In an exclusive interview with CNN on November 11, Portuguese superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo (Cristiano Ronaldo) said that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will "definitely" be his last World Cup.

"I will be 41 years old and I think this will be the end of my participation in big events," Ronaldo said in an interview with CNN reporter Becky Anderson at the Tourism Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Talking about when he will completely retire from football, the historical top scorer in international football said: "I am enjoying the moment, but when I say 'soon', it is really not far away, because I have given everything to football."

"I have been involved in this sport for 25 years and have done everything I should do. In the club I have set many records in different competitions with the club and the national team. I am really proud, so let’s enjoy and live in the moment.”

C Ronaldo also expressed the hope that his son Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for the Portuguese U16 team, can surpass himself on the court in the future.

"As human beings, we usually don't want anyone to be better than ourselves," Ronaldo said. "But for me, if my child can be better than me, I will never be jealous of him, believe me."

C Ronaldo said that he only hopes that his son can live a happy life without having to bear any pressure "as Ronaldo's son."

"As a father, I will support him to be whatever he wants to be."
