Pio Esposito: The game was difficult but we scored in the end and we have to repay the coach’s trust

November 14th: In the European World Cup qualifiers held early this morning, Italy defeated Moldova 2-0 away from home. After the game, Italian forward Pio Esposito accepted an interview with Sky Sports.

What is your evaluation of this game?

In this kind of game if you can't break the deadlock early, the game will be difficult. But we didn't give up and luckily we found a chance to score in the end.

You scored a goal in this game, and your life has changed a lot.

It all happened very quickly. A few months ago I was with Spezia in Serie B, and then I participated in the Club World Cup with Inter Milan this summer. The important thing is to keep the balance of expectations. For example, I may not be able to score in a certain period, but I have to persevere. I have to remember where I was while never being satisfied with the status quo.

What do you think of Italian national team coach Gattuso and Inter Milan coach Chivu?

Both Gattuso and Chivu have given me a lot of trust. I must thank them and try to repay them on the court.

The next World Cup qualifying match against Norway will be held at the San Siro Stadium. Will you start?

I have no expectations for this. I will play at the appropriate time according to the coach's arrangements. It's great to be able to play at San Siro, I still need to find my form... maybe I will make a breakthrough with the national team first, rather than Inter Milan.
