On October 16, the official website of the Croatian national team reported that 36-year-old Perisic was nominated as one of the candidates for the "Show Your Heart" Player of the Year Award for his perseverance in professionalism and outstanding contribution to the national team.

Two years ago, when he was 34 years old, he suffered a serious cruciate ligament tear that could end his career. However, many people did not expect that he not only made a successful comeback, but also reached another peak in his career at the age of 36, leading PSV to a historic league championship last season.

In his 14-year national team career, Perisic played a total of 148 times, second only to Modric, and ranked second in the team's history scorer list with 37 goals, second only to Suker. His most remembered moment is undoubtedly his crucial equalizer against England in the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.

In the nomination speech, it was praised that Perisic always gave his all for the national team, even fighting with injuries. He perfectly interpreted all the qualities sought by the "Show Your Heart" award and was one of the greatest players in the history of Croatian football.

Croatia's "Show Your Heart" Player of the Year Award honors players who display extraordinary fighting spirit, dedication and love on the field.
