On July 19, Bournemouth Football Club officially unveiled an ambitious plan - spending £90 million to renovate its home vibrant stadium. As one of the smaller stadiums in the Premier League, the renovation aims to significantly improve the size and facilities of the stadium.

According to the planning, the number of seats at the Vitality Stadium will jump from the existing 11,307 to about 20,500 in one fell swoop, and further expansion space is also reserved, which is expected to expand the capacity to more than 23,000. By then, Vitality Stadium will surpass Brentford’s G-tech Community Stadium to become the second smallest in the Premier League. American billionaire and club owner Bill Foley revealed that the stadium does not need to be closed during the renovation. Specific projects include the demolition of the temporary south stand, the expansion of the north and east stands, and filling four corners to increase seating. The Vibrant Stadium, which was built in 1910 and renovated in 2001, is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2027. Computer-generated images released by the club show the new look of the refurbished stadium in advance. The integrated design of the New South Stand and the surrounding environment, as well as the planning of the new fan zone in the southwest corner, are all eye-catching.

In addition to the increase in seats, the club also plans to fully upgrade facilities, covering the installation of new fences, resettlement of revolving doors, adding ticket offices and more VIP rooms. Furley believes that renovation can save a lot of time and cost compared to building a new stadium. Bournemouth will be the first to build the New South stand off the court after next season's match against Manchester City. With its outstanding performance in the 2024/2025 season and about £100 million in summer player trading, the team hopes to use the renovation to enhance the home atmosphere and help head coach Iraola compete for European competition qualification. The Vitality Stadium will be held by the new entity "Black Knights Stadium Co., Ltd.".
