October 20th, in the 7th round of Serie A, Inter Milan 1-0 Roma, winning four consecutive league victories. After the game, Italian coach Capello wrote an article in Gazzetta dello Sport praising Inter Milan coach Chivu.

The full text is as follows:

Now we can say with certainty that this is Chiwo’s Inter Milan. It's a joy to see this team perform. The players surrounded their coach like they did at the Stadio Olimpico a few days ago, an embrace that showed the close bond between them; at the same time, it was a joy to watch because everything was running perfectly and the team continued to improve. Game after game, victory after victory. This is Chivu's Inter, because now all the players, from Lautaro to Varela, from Bastoni to Calhanoglu and Dimarco, to young talents like Boni and Esposito, are a perfect fit for Chivu. In just a few months of work, he completed the most important task, and also the most delicate task, to eliminate the shadow of the end of last season.

Chivo succeeded because he got into the hearts of the players and rekindled their fighting spirit. He didn't improve the team's technical level, because that was already very high, and the value of Inter's players is unquestionable, but he did improve the players' confidence, which is a huge achievement. After a traumatic season, the biggest risk is that the depression following a Champions League defeat will engulf players into the new season. Chivo solved the problem by inspiring pride in his players: Inter have mature stars and may be aging, but they are by no means a team at the end of their rope. Thanks to the new coach, this is now clearly understood by everyone. Today's Inter are a team full of renewed hunger, winning with strength, competitiveness, humility and great sacrifice. Did you see how fiercely Varela and Calhanoglu attacked their opponents? And Mkhitaryan’s endless energy? And the enthusiasm of the players coming off the bench? Chivo involved everyone in the project and the effect was evident in the games: from Sommer to Zelinski, all Inter players felt part of the team and were there for the team. For a new coach, this is the most wonderful success. It's also amazing to see Bony and Esposito so bravely take this step: they may be young but mature enough to bear the weight of the Nerazzurri jersey. Inter Milan won today because there are reliable substitute options behind the main lineup. The credit here must be shared: Chiwo boldly used them and the management also made significant changes.

In addition to the team's spirit and resources, there is also the style of play, and Chiwo also has a lot to be proud of in this regard. Inter now focus on vertical play, pressing forward all the time, and are finally less reliant on aimless passes from the back. I think this is a very important shift in perspective: when players get used to always passing the ball to the goalkeeper or making lateral passes, they are actually avoiding responsibility. Instead, Chivo asked them to push as vertically as possible, thus holding them accountable. His players embraced this new path as true champions. Therefore, I firmly believe that Inter fans can be optimistic about the future. Tomorrow we travel to Belgium to face San Giulos in the Champions League and on Sunday we face Napoli at the Maradona Stadium. Rotations are inevitable and I'm curious to see if they will be as extensive as last time, but one thing I have no doubt about: Inter will continue to move at full speed no matter who plays in the cup. Because Chivo has restarted the engine.
