Dyche: I didn’t question Amorim’s character, but “clickbait” ruined everything

October 31 News Recently, Nottingham Forest coach Dyche said in an interview with ESPN that his remarks about winning more games than Amorim when coaching Manchester United were used as "click bait."

The two managers will meet for the first time on Saturday, with United heading to the City Stadium looking for a fourth win in a row, while Forest look for their first win since the opening day of the season. Dyche's comments in May were revived before the game when he said United would win more games if he were in charge and adopted a 4-4-2 formation.

Earlier, Amorim laughed off Dyche's remarks, while Dyche said the full story did not make the headlines: "I'm not questioning his character and I would never do that to any coach. We generally get along well outside of football and unfortunately now, whether as a commentator or as a coach, clickbait ruins everything and it changes the whole story."

"I also said that I would like more time to be given to coaches and I don't like to see coaches being forced out of their posts. Because I've been through it. So how long should it be fair to say that half a season would be enough to continue his work, but unfortunately that was not the focus of the report" when asked about it at Thursday's press conference. When making remarks, Amorim said: "Maybe if we play a 4-4-2 formation, we will win more games. But I have always said that my style of play will take some time to bear fruit, but it will be better in the long run, so we don't know how that will be."

"I can see Sean Dyche from a coach and commentator perspective, and if you don't have some very strong opinions as a commentator, I don't want to watch you! I'm the same way, so I understand it's a completely different job. I know Sean Dyche is very smart and he knows how to play the game. He also understands that watching the game and talking about the game is one thing, coaching a team is another."

Dyche also praised Amorim's flexibility in management style: "They changed the wind So it's fair to say that he's changed his style in terms of management, his coaching staff and his players, not necessarily his beliefs, just their style. Sometimes you need to stick to what you believe in and sometimes you need to be flexible. So far, he has shown some flexibility and it has yielded good results."

Amorim's United are currently in sixth place in the Premier League, with Forest in the relegation zone with just five points from nine games. Dyche was hired as the head coach of Nottingham Forest on October 21. This is the club's third head coach this season after Nuno Santo and Postkoglu.
