On July 4, 2025, according to the BBC, Premier League club Arsenal and Japanese international Fian Kenyo have reached an agreement, and the two sides have officially terminated the contract early. The defender, who was once highly anticipated, officially bid farewell to the Emirates Stadium after four seasons of the Gunners career.

Since joining from Bologna in 2021, Fu'an Jianyang has played a total of 79 games for Arsenal and has played an important role in many key battles. He has won fans' recognition with his steady defensive ability, excellent tactical execution and professional attitude. However, frequent injuries seriously affected his development trajectory.

In the past season (2024/25), Fu'an was reimbursed for almost the entire season due to a knee injury and only played for 6 minutes in the official game. According to the Times, his recovery process is not ideal and may even miss the early 2025/26 season. Since entering the Premier League, he has experienced 8 injuries in different parts and has been absent for more than 456 days. He is currently the player with the longest injury time in Arsenal.

The medical team expressed concerns whether Fu'an could return to his best condition, believing that he might never be able to reach the competitive level in the early stages of joining. This is also one of the important reasons that prompted the two sides to finally decide on a peaceful breakup.

After termination of the contract with Fu'an, Arsenal has begun to look for new candidates for defense strengthening. They allegedly turned their attention to Valencia central defender Christian Moscra.

In addition, Fu'an is not the only defender to leave the team this summer. Previously, left-back Kieran Tierney had transferred to the Celtics, and Zinchenko could also leave this summer. As the number of defensive personnel continues to decrease, Arteta's team urgently needs to strengthen the transfer market to cope with the pressure of multi-line combat in the new season.
