After official confirmation and adjustment from Slott's coaching staff, Liverpool goalkeeper Claudio Tafarrel made a sincere farewell speech, announcing that he was about to leave Anfield Stadium.

On Wednesday, Liverpool Club announced that Giovanni van Bronkhorst was appointed as the new assistant coach of new assistant coach Slott, replacing John Heatinga, who moved to Ajax. Meanwhile, Xavi Valero has confirmed his return as the first team goalkeeper coaching supervisor, while Tafarell and Fabian Ott will leave.

"I am grateful and proud of my time at Liverpool Football Club," Tafarre wrote on Instagram. "I extend my sincerest thanks to every staff member, all players, and of course the great fans. This wonderful time will always be treasured in my heart."

Tafarrel was born on May 8, 1966 and has played for Brazil International Football Club, Parma Football Club, Galatasaray Football Club, Athletic Minero Football Club and Regina Football Club in Santa Rosa, Brazil. He also won the 1994 World Cup championship with the Brazilian national men's football team. After retiring, Tafarre became a goalkeeper coach and established a deep connection with Alisson at Liverpool. Alisson has played for Liverpool since November 2021, and the two have also worked with the Brazilian national team.

Liverpool former goalkeeper coach John Achtberg once commented on the relationship between the two in the summer: "If they even replace Tafarrell, it would be tantamount to starting a new job search journey for Alisson."

Alisson said through Brazilian media earlier this summer: "I have never considered long-term planning, but I have one year left in my contract, and the club has options for renewal. They may execute it. I focus on the present moment and focus on doing my current job well. This is a critical moment in my career. The World Cup is coming, and I must concentrate and not want other plans to interfere with this important goal."

"I hope to return to Brazilian football, especially the international team. The specific time is uncertain, but I plan to go back and come back at a high level. That's what I plan, if it can be called a plan."

Liverpool has made plans for the goalkeeper position. George Mamadashvili has officially become a member of the Reds, and the transfer agreement was reached with Valencia last summer.

In addition, Liverpool signed the highly acclaimed Hungarian 20-year-old goalkeeper Armin Page this year. Kellech has left the team, while Yaros is on loan to Ajax.

However, the loss of experienced Tafarell is undoubtedly a blow. He is a highly respected coach behind the scenes. A few weeks after the Reds held the cup, there was considerable change in the coaching team.

Slott and the players will gather next week to start pre-season training, when the coaching staff will take a new look.

The new Premier League season will be opened in mid-August, with Liverpool's first match against Bournemouth; the team's first pre-season warm-up match this summer is scheduled to be held in Preston on July 21.
