Liverpool refuses to release Diaz! Bayern s offer of 58.6 million was ridiculed "send beggars"

Liverpool has marked the Colombian winger with a sky-high price of 86.8 million pounds (10 million euros) after rejecting Bayern Munich's offer for Louis Diaz. The Reds made it clear that Diaz is the core of the team's future plan and "will never be sold", even if the player himself reveals his willingness to leave the team.

Bundesliga champion Bayern officially offered Diaz 58.6 million pounds (67.5 million euros) on Tuesday, but was immediately rejected by Liverpool. According to The Athletic, the Reds valued the 28-year-old winger as high as £86.8 million, and emphasized that this number is "not to facilitate a deal, but to reflect the current value of the players."

Diaz helped Liverpool win the Premier League championship last season, scoring 13 goals in 36 league appearances, which is an indispensable part of the forward line. Since joining Porto in January 2022 for 37.5 million pounds (including 12 million pounds floating clause), he has made a total of 148 appearances for the Reds, contributing 41 goals and 16 assists, and won honors such as the Premier League, the FA Cup, and two league cups with the team. His competitive value and team status have been greatly improved.

Although Liverpool's attitude is firm, Diaz has expressed his idea of "seeking new challenges" to the club, and teams such as Barcelona and Riyadh Victory have also shown interest in him. The player's contract with the Reds is only two years away, and "no progress in renewal negotiations" has led to speculation that he may seek a transfer this summer.

However, Liverpool's position is very clear: to regard Diaz as the "core of future plans" and have no intention of starting negotiations. Coach Arne Slot previously emphasized: "His speed and breakthrough are the key to our tactics, and losing him will severely damage the team's balance." This tough attitude is not only a recognition of the value of players, but also a "dissuasion" for suitors such as Bayern. The price of 86.8 million pounds is far beyond market expectations (Bayern's valuation is about 60 million pounds), almost cutting off the possibility of short-term transactions.

Diaz's deadlock also affects the plans of other clubs:

· If Bayern cannot sign him, he may turn to Arsenal's Leandro Trosad (as an alternative);

· Barcelona needs to choose between Diaz and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford. The Reds' tough attitude may force Barcelona to accelerate the Rashford deal;

· If Liverpool successfully retains Diaz, they need to restart the contract renewal negotiations as soon as possible to avoid being passive before the contract expires next summer.

For Liverpool, the £86.8 million price tag is not only an affirmation of the player's strength, but also a strategy - to scare away potential buyers by raising the threshold, while sending Diaz the signal that "the team regards it as a non-selling product." As the fans said: "The Reds would rather let his contract expire than let this Premier League champion be let go of the low price."
