Manchester United players may "work overtime" to play friendly matches and earn extra money

Due to missing this season's European arena, Manchester United is considering arranging multiple commercial friendly matches in the middle of the week to make up for the fiscal deficit of up to 100 million pounds.

coach Amorin hopes that the players can "work overtime" mid-week to participate in additional games. Behind this plan is the double blow the team faced this summer: in May this year, they lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final and missed their qualifications for the European Cup; and in the Premier League, they only ranked 15th in the standings and performed poorly. Worse, the team was eliminated by low-level team Grimsby early in the League Cup, which means they only have the mid-week game of home against West Ham on December 3 throughout the season.

Faced with such a long "window period", head coach Ruben Amorin plans to make full use of this period and arrange a series of semi-formal friendly matches. The opponent may be European powerhouses who also miss the European game, such as AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Lazio or Sevilla. These games not only help players maintain high-intensity game rhythms, but also bring considerable additional income to the club.

For example, if a friendly match with AC Milan in the UAE, Manchester United is expected to make a considerable profit. At the same time, other teams in the Premier League "BIG6" are still running around for the Champions League and have no time to take care of them. Although this income cannot be compared with the huge broadcasts and bonuses brought by participating in European events, it can at least relieve financial pressure to a certain extent.

In fact, there are precedents in this strategy. This summer, Manchester United earned about £7.8 million through the Asian tour, and then approached the same amount on the US Tour. If the score is half-divided with AC Milan and other teams, Manchester United can still earn millions of pounds, and if it is against Leipzig or Lazio, it may even make more money.

In addition, Amorin is also considering organizing team building activities during the season, such as traveling to the Algarve, Portugal or the Middle East. This not only gives players more time to spend outside the training ground, but also helps to enhance locker room cohesion and adds stability to tough seasons.
