May 19th According to the Post, during the Everton farewell to Goodison Park Stadium, many club legendary players and celebrities, including Rooney, came to the scene.

Last Sunday, after Everton defeated Southampton 2-0, Rooney participated in the parade with more than 60 former club players including Peter Reed, Graeme Sharp and Duncan Ferguson.

Although fans kindly mocked Rooney's relationship with Manchester United, he said in a warm applause: "I am an authentic Liverpool guy, a young man from Croxteth. Everton was the club I supported as I grew up and I still love it. I know we have had ups and downs, but I hope we can bring the history of Goodison Park to the new stadium."

When Rooney spoke, he was embraced by former teammate Duncan Ferguson and boxer Tony Belle, who was the host of the parade. Tim Cahill then paid tribute to the late chairman Bill Kenwright, saying: "Bill will look at us in the sky." The heroes of the 1980s Andy Gray and Peter Reed were greeted with the warmest cheers. Gray said: "I thought I had seen everything in the football world until I came to Everton. The atmosphere here is extraordinary. Although we are leaving Goodison, Goodison will never leave us." Earlier, thousands of Everton fans gathered off the court to welcome the team. The players also tried their best to score two goals in the first half and eventually defeated Southampton, the bottom of the Premier League, 2-0.

coach David Moyes said: "The scene off the court is incredible, and I told the players that we must end the Goodison era well. Although we are safe in the standings, they are still under pressure because of this occasion and all the great seniors who are watching."

After 133 years at Goodison Stadium, the Everton Men's Football Team will move to the new stadium on Liverpool's Waterfront next season, which was named Hill Dickinson Stadium this week, and the women's football team will continue to play at Goodison Stadium.
