Telegraph exclusive: Premier League cancels cooperation on rainbow armbands, but retains one-knee kneeling ceremony

Hupu August 8th, a well-known reporter from the Daily Telegraph, exclusively reported that the Premier League has terminated its cooperation with Stonewall and its charity "Rainbow Shoe Laces". The Daily Telegraph also revealed that the world's richest league has canceled its rainbow armband and plans to launch its own LGBTQ+ inclusion campaign. The same day the news was released, the Premier League captains agreed that the players would continue to kneel on one knee this season - and just two weeks ago, the English women's football team stopped this anti-racist ceremony. The decision on rainbow armbands and kneeling on one knee – two controversial symbols – was made at a meeting of 20 club captains on Thursday.

But it was revealed that the Premier League had previously terminated its eight-year cooperation with "Stone Wall", which launched the "Rainbow Lace" campaign in 2013.

The decision was made against the backdrop of growing expertise within the league and its clubs. The league will then launch its own event during LGBTQ+ History Month in February.

A source with knowledge of the event said this will be done after consultations with clubs, fan groups and other stakeholders, while education through its community programs will remain a priority.

The Premier League became the latest major organization to break ties with the Stonewall organization because its gender ideology advocated was damaged by this year's Supreme Court decision on the legal definition of women in the Equality Act.

The reporter has contacted the Shiwan organization for comments.
