The salary dispute between Mbappe and his former club Paris Saint-Germain will be heard at the Paris Labor Arbitration Court on November 17. AFP learned through judicial channels that both Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain were summoned to attend this hearing. The hearing is just one of several lawsuits involved in the financial dispute between the two parties.

Mbappe bid farewell to Paris in the summer of 2024 and joined Real Madrid as a free agent. The French striker has since embarked on a long road to asking for salary, taking legal action many times, demanding that Paris pay a total of 55 million euros in arrears, including his last three months' salary, signing bonus and moral bonus. According to Mbappe's team, the player never reached an agreement with the club to waive these payments. Paris responded strongly, accusing the former number one star's remarks of being pure "ridiculous fiction" and pointing out that during the negotiations in the summer of 2023, the two sides had discussed the conditions for his return to the first team. At that time, Mbappe was excluded from the first team lineup because he refused to renew his contract, and could only train with abandoned players.

Paris insists that the two parties had a verbal agreement at the time: If Mbappé leaves the team freely and cannot bring transfer fees to the team, he will voluntarily give up part of the final payment of the contract to maintain the financial health of the club. Tom's team retorted, saying that the Paris remarks were all "imagination."

In April this year, Mbappé successfully applied for a preservation freeze of 55 million euros in his Paris account, but the decision was revoked by the court on May 26. According to sources, the amount is still frozen until an appeal hearing, which has not yet been set. The two sides have previously engaged in multiple rounds of debates at sports arbitration bodies, but these bodies have unanimously stated that they have no power to enforce rulings in favor of Mbappe.

On the criminal level, Mbappe withdrew the "mental harassment and attempted extortion" lawsuit he filed against Paris on May 16 in July, but the investigation process for "mental harassment" continues. The case stems from his forced devolution from Paris in the summer of 2023. Paris is good at this and even enjoys it, but this approach has also brought them into the sight of Paris prosecutors and become the subject of many investigations.

Speaking of the upcoming hearing, Mbappe’s purpose in filing this lawsuit is to “recognize his original fixed-term contract (CDD) as an indefinite-term contract (CDI).” Due to the nature of the accusation, this case will not go through mediation and will directly enter the trial process. However, the labor arbitration court's trial cycle is usually long, and the final decision is expected to take several months.
