The Sun Exclusive: Paqueta wants to jump ship but West Ham may struggle to get good offer

Hupu reported on October 29 that Jack Rosser, a famous reporter from the Sun in London, exclusively reported that West Ham United has had a dismal start to the season and Lucas Paqueta hopes to leave the team in January next year.

The Brazil international was eventually cleared of match-fixing charges following a two-year FA investigation over the summer.

Aston Villa made an offer in the last transfer window, but was rejected by the Hammers because they believed that it was indeed too late to let Paqueta go.

West Ham United has considered letting the midfielder leave in the past, but the asking price for the former Lyon player was as high as 60 million pounds.

Given Paqueta's poor form, attracting interest from Premier League teams in the new year may not be easy.

The 28-year-old player has only scored two goals for the Hammers this season, and the Hammers are currently ranked 19th. West Ham United are looking to invest in January to support embattled new Portugal manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

If they want to invest and bolster their team's relegation hopes, they need to raise funds, and Paqueta could bring a big chunk of it.

Former club Flamengo have long been interested in him but are unlikely to meet the asking price.

The 30-year-old James Ward-Prowse, signed from Southampton for 30 million pounds two years ago, is also one of the players who may leave in the next transfer window. However, with being left out, the midfielder has little hope of receiving a reasonable transfer fee.
