May 15th Premier League referee Weber said that in Bournemouth's game against Manchester United, Evan Nelson should not have received a red card after slipping.

In the 34th round of the Premier League on April 27, Bournemouth drew 1-1 with Manchester United at home. In the 70th minute of the game, Bournemouth forward Evan Nelson slipped his support foot while trying to tackle Mazlavi, resulting in a two-foot flying tackle. The referee first showed a yellow card to Evanielson, and then VAR intervened. The referee changed the red card after watching the video replay. After the game, Bournemouth appealed, and Evanielson's red card was cancelled.

Chief Operating Officer of PGMOL, the Premier League referee management agency, talked about the penalty when participating in the program. Guest Irving first asked: "I think it is important to emphasize that after appealing, the red card was cancelled. Do you agree to cancel the red card and allow Evan Nelson to participate in the next game?"

Weber said: "I think the yellow card originally presented on the court should be maintained. We do not think VAR should intervene at that time. We think it is wrong to suggest VAR to review the video playback. Evan Nelson's fight at that time was indeed a bit reckless. He rushed towards the opponent at a very fast speed. His shoe studs did have some contact with Mazlawi. But we think this should be a yellow card, and the red card was a wrong penalty. If he did not slip and make mistakes, then the contact between the two sides would not happen in this way. Even after the slip, Evan Nelson fell on his back and he did not have much strength to kick the opponent."
