Warriors forward Draymond Green was fined $50,000 for gambling remarks against the referees
Draymond Green was fined $50,000 for making inappropriate remarks in Game 3 in the Warriors' fifth game against the Timberwolves.

On Wednesday, the NBA fined Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green for making what the league believed to be "inappropriate remarks" questioning the fairness of the game referees. The fine was announced hours before the Warriors’ fifth game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals.
The incident occurred in the third game held at Chase Center on May 10, with the Warriors losing to the Timberwolves 97-102. A statement issued by league operations president Byron Spurr pointed out that Green's comments in the last few seconds of the game were the basis for disciplinary action against him.
The statement read: "Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was fined $50,000 for making inappropriate remarks to question the fairness of the referees."
"Green's behavior occurred in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals held at Chase Center on May 10, the Warriors lost 97-102 to the Minnesota Timberwolves."
The remarks involved appeared in a sideline video clip posted on X (formerly Twitter), showing Green talking to a player on the bench, while teammate Jonathan Cumingga made a three-pointer with 4.1 seconds left.
"5.5. I know what you are doing," Green said. Many interpret this sentence as an hinting that they manipulate the game through betting lines or referees. The Warriors are in danger of being eliminated by the Timberwolves, and Draymond Green's remarks have sparked heated discussions

Green has long been one of the most outspoken and controversial figures in the NBA, and he often attracts attention for his fierce confrontation and frank public remarks on the field. This is not the first time he has violated alliance discipline. He has faced fines and bans on multiple occasions during his career, especially during the playoffs.
The latest penalty is at a critical moment for the Warriors, who trailed the Timberwolves 1-3 in the four-win series of seven games. The Golden State Warriors will host Game 5 at TNT on Wednesday at 9:30 pm ET. With the season at stake, the team will likely be missing Stephen Curry, who has been out after a slight strain on his left hamstring in Game 1. Curry has not played since the early part of the second quarter of that game.
Green has always been the core figure in maintaining competitiveness in the Warriors, and he has contributed on both sides of the offense and defense. However, his recent fine could further intensify the attention of the already difficult team with limited room for fault tolerance. The Timberwolves rely on the steady play of Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle, who teamed up to control the series both inside and outside. The Timberwolves won Game 4, just one step away from returning to the Western Conference Finals. The Warriors are working to avoid being eliminated, and the focus will remain on their execution ability under pressure – and whether Green’s leadership can help them extend the season despite the recent controversy.
