Interestingly, Louwei "is not surprised" that the Pacers Halliburton lost the MVP trophy in the Eastern Conference Finals

Three-time NBA Sixer-Man winner Louis Williams explains why he wasn't surprised that Tyres Halliburton failed to win the Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy.

Indian Pacers star Tyres Halliburton lost to Pascal Siakam and missed the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy, which remains a hot topic in the basketball world. This topic has always been a good addition as everyone is waiting for the start of the 2025 NBA Finals.

Many believe that Halliburton should win the Larry Bird Trophy, not Siakam. However, for former NBA defender Louis Williams, Siakam won the trophy after the Pacers eliminated the New York Knicks, which was not as unexpected as many people thought.

"The results may be mixed. The vote was 5-4, right?" Williams, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year three times, said on Run It Back.

Williams pointed out that the reason why Siakam was able to complete his tasks well against the Knicks and the NBA playoffs while keeping a low profile is all due to Halliburton's outstanding performance. In six games against the New York Knicks, Siakam averaged 24.8 points per game, shooting as high as 52.4% from the field and 50% from three-pointers.

Halliburton also performed quite well, averaging 21.0 points per game, while leading the Pacers in rebounds (6.0) and assists (10.5).

Williams couldn't help but mention the embarrassing moments at the award ceremony on the court after the Pacers defeated the Knicks 125-108 in Game 6 and secured the series victory.

"So I wasn't surprised when he (Siakam) won (East Finals MVP Award), but it felt a little funny to see Tyres feel like he was about to step onto the podium, but the results could be mixed. So, although it's funny online, he's right," Williams said.

"It's like I'm just one vote away from the trophy. I'm just one vote away from this trophy, but for Pascal Siakam it's well deserved."

Knicks series is over, and Halliburton and the Pacers are focusing all their energy on the upcoming NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The series will kick off Thursday at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, with the second game also taking place there on Sunday.
