Kendrick Perkins reveals that disputes occur frequently within Boston Celtics players

According to Gautam Varyl, a contributor to US sports media F/W. The Boston Celtics were one of the best teams in the NBA from 2007-08 to 2009-10, but there was some tension behind the scenes. We've heard of Ray Allen and Rondo and others not getting along well, and Kendrick Perkins revealed on the Road Trippin ' podcast that quarrels are commonplace for the Celtics.

"Listen, through that window from 2007 to 2010, you have to realize that it's too much quarrel," Perkins said. "Hands, furniture moves, Budweiser bottles break on people's heads. Ray and Rondo wear gloves because they don't like each other," Perkins said. "We just had them put it in the weight room. It was like literally boxing it. Tony Allen and Big Baby had a full-blown fight on the plane."

"House and Big Baby tear up my hotel locker room, I mean our hotel room in San Antonio, when we were playing Bray," Perkins continued. "Pearce and he had an argument after we hit one of the places. We fought like assholes and then it was like nothing else," Perkins added. "...We've made so many connections that it doesn't even matter. If you have anything to vent? Damn, that's the thing."

Those Celtics were able to put their problems aside and dominate when they were on the court. They won the NBA championship with six games against the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 Finals, but then lost the rematch in seven games in 2010. The Celtics signed former Lakers O'Neal that offseason in order to return to their peak. This didn't happen, and O'Neal eventually angered Perkins in the locker room.

Perkins revealed that after West lost to Weaver in training, he had played Weaver who was applying ice to his feet in a mop bucket. Weaver didn't want to fight, but O'Neal began to urge him. “This is one of the few times I’ve gotten angry with Shaq,” Perkins said. "Because at this point it's bullying. You know when someone wants to fight, you know when someone doesn't want to fight. Feng has no intention to fight, nor does he do that. That guy just wants to play," Perkins added. "Go home. Let it go. Shaq is there, 'Oh, oh,. Take it to the bathroom and take it in the shower. He has to get his lick back. I think, man. Incite that bastard." The situation didn't escalate and before long it seemed both of them left it behind. Although Weaver and West did not have a long dispute in the end, the other two Celtics players did. Perkins, who played for the Celtics from 2003 to 2011, mentioned Allen and Rondo in boxing, who admitted they had a fight. Even today, the relationship between these two people is not good, which is a pity.

As for Perkins, he seems to have annoyed some members of the 2024 championship-winning Celtics in the wrong way. He was not invited to the parade, and later it was reported that some players' families did not want him to attend. Perkins burned many friendships between each other during his media career, but he wouldn't change his way. It seems that this has also become a kind of Celtic culture!
