Lakers Journal: The Lakers made 39 free throws in the third quarter, but the referees overcorrected in the final quarter. They might as well not call the Kings a foul.

October 27th NBA regular season, the Lakers defeated the Kings 127-120 in an away game. Lakers team reporter Buha talked about the free throws in this game in his podcast.

Buha said: "After the Lakers' poor performance against the Warriors in the opening game, their free throw shooting rate exceeded 80% for the second consecutive game, and 46 free throws were indeed a lot. From the perspective of referee enforcement, this game is very interesting, because I think the Lakers did get favorable penalties in the first three quarters. 39 free throws, and then the referee seemed to have overcorrected and simply didn't call the Kings a foul.

"I think this is one of the key factors that allowed the Kings to recover the score in the last quarter, regain the lead, and even almost win the game. The referee seemed to be thinking, 'Okay, we have called the Kings so many fouls, and we won't call it anymore.' '

"Until the middle of the fourth quarter, the free throw ratio was 5-0 (the Kings took 5 free throws and the Lakers 0), but later because of the Kings' tactical fouls, the Lakers got several more free throw opportunities."

In the entire game, the free throw ratio between the Kings and the Lakers was 18 to 46.
