NBA China and Chinese Basketball Association announce multi-year basketball development cooperation

On October 10, 2025, NBA China and the Chinese Basketball Association jointly announced a multi-year cooperation plan aimed at supporting the development of China's elite players, coaches and referees. Through this cooperation, the two parties will provide the Chinese national men's and women's basketball teams with opportunities to train and compete in the United States, create conditions for athletes with great potential to participate in NBA elite basketball programs, and assist the development of Chinese coaches and referees.

The signing ceremony for this cooperation was held in Macau before the 2025 NBA China Game. Chinese Basketball Association Chairman Guo Zhenming and NBA Chairman Adam Silver attended together. The Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns will start two preseason games, which will be held in Macau at 8 pm tonight and 7 pm on October 12 (Sunday).

NBA China and the Chinese Basketball Association will work together to carry out a number of cooperation initiatives:

• Provide opportunities for the Chinese national men's and women's basketball teams to train and compete in the United States, including participating in the NBA Summer League and WNBA preseason games.

• Provide opportunities for high-potential athletes in China to participate in NBA elite basketball development programs, including Basketball Without Borders, NBA Elite Basketball Academy, and player selection events hosted by NBA, WNBA and NBA G League teams.

•Support the development of Chinese coaches and referees through training programs in the United States, China and online.
