Official announcement! Pelicans sign guard Trey Alexander and center Hunter Dickinson on a two-way contract

July 6th, the New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed a two-way contract with defender Trae Alexander and center Hunter Dickinson. According to the team's policy, the specific terms of the contract have not been announced.

Alexander was the NBA Development League's Rookie of the Year in the 2024-25 season. Last season, he averaged 36.7 minutes per game with the Nuggets Development League team Grand Rapids Gold, averaging 26.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals. In addition, he also played 24 NBA games for the Nuggets in the 2024-25 season, averaging 1.3 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists per 4.9 minutes.

Dickinson played 34 games at the University of Kansas (all starters), averaging 17.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 blocks per game, and was selected for the Associated Press National Team in the 2024-25 season. He scored double-double in 32 of 34 games and completed a double-double in 16 games.

Dickinson has been a five-year college career (three seasons at the University of Michigan and two seasons at the University of Kansas), and has played in a total of 161 games (156 starts), and has played 30.8 minutes per game and contributed 17.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
