Coach of the River Plate: We need to improve our existing strength and will participate in the Club World Cup with high expectations

reported on May 28 that after the Liberators Cup draw at the Peru Sports University 1-1 at home, coach Marcelo Galado talked about the team's preparations for the Club World Cup.

Despite the draw with the opponent, Galado will face the upcoming Club World Cup with his usual winning mentality: "I don't like the word 'competition', it sounds like a cliché, and the key is how you prepare to win the game. I don't want to just compete and see what happens, which is not in my nature."

"If I lose, I hope my opponent is indeed better and more qualified to win. We faced the strongest Barcelona in history, and there weren't many opportunities at the time. I don't think there is a team that can reach that level now. I'm a natural contender, and I like to compete for victory."

In order to be able to deal with this challenge when facing the world's top teams, Galado has to adjust the team in a short time. Although it is possible to introduce new players before the game, he avoided mentioning specific names such as Gentro and Ronaldo, and made it clear that his primary goal is to strengthen the existing lineup, but it is not ruled out the possibility of introducing new players.

He said: "We need to consolidate our existing strengths, see what is missing, and have the opportunity to add what factors that can improve us. It will depend on the situation in the coming weeks. We will go with very high expectations, otherwise we won't go."

Despite the high expectations of the Club World Cup, the Liberators Cup is still the obsession of the River Plate. River Plate missed the opportunity to be the second-place seed, which means they may not be able to play at home during the knockout stage. Still, Galado is reserved about it: "I like the home advantage, but it's possible to get good results on the road. It all depends on how you perform. Now, the challenge is to keep the pace we find after a short break."
