FIFA spokesperson talks about the rise in the Club World Cup semi-final tickets: Ticket prices are adjusted according to supply and demand

July 7th A FIFA spokesperson was interviewed and responded to the issue of the dynamic ticket price of the Club World Cup.

Real Madrid's semi-final ticket price for the Club World Cup semi-finals against Paris is 795% higher than the same-seat ticket for Chelsea's semi-finals against Fruminense on Tuesday at the same stadium. Chelsea's cheapest tickets for New York games rose 66% in 24 hours due to FIFA's controversial dynamic pricing policy. Tickets for the upper stands of Metropolitan Stadium on Sunday were $13.40, and it had risen to $22.30 on Monday. The cheapest tickets for Real Madrid against Paris are still sold for $199.60. FIFA also applies dynamic pricing to the World Cup next summer, raising concerns that fans may not be able to watch the most compelling matches due to high ticket prices. A FIFA spokesman said: "According to local market practices and regulations, as reflected in the General Terms and Conditions of Ticketing, dynamic pricing has been implemented for all public ticket sales in the match since the start of ticket sales in 2024, meaning ticket prices are adjusted according to demand and supply per game."

Despite last-minute discounted tickets, not all fans are satisfied with dynamic pricing. A Chelsea fan who asked not to be named said: "The use of dynamic pricing in the Club World Cup has sounded a wake-up call for the future. If the Premier League also adopts this method, long-term supporters will not be able to watch most games due to high ticket prices, and the club will sacrifice loyalty in pursuit of the highest ticket prices and favor tourists."
