Free air bulls express their willingness to join Manchester United! La Jue has not started negotiations yet, and two major obstacles restrict the transfer

Italian transfer expert Fabricio Romano revealed that former Everton center Dominic Calvert Lewin is very open and excited to join Manchester United this summer. The 28-year-old air bully left Goodison Park Stadium after his contract expired earlier this month. He is now a free agent and his agent recommends him to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been struggling to find the ideal new No. 9 player this summer, but have been difficult to attract top targets to join. Liam Drapp, Derkelaysh and Osmaine all rejected the olive branch that Manchester United extended. So Manchester United does understand the market for free players.

Lewin was one of them, so he was naturally happy to join, even if he was only regarded as a substitute by Amorin. Lewin, who has been playing for Everton for many years, doesn't even have to move if he transfers to Manchester United, which is one of the reasons why he will definitely consider joining Amorin's team. Romano confirmed that Lewin had ties to Manchester United and was very willing to join, but the club has not yet entered into specific negotiations with the player.

Romano explained: "The thing about Lewin is that he has been recommended to Manchester United, but Manchester United didn't start negotiating for him. Manchester United got the opportunity to sign Lewin for free, which is a cheap opportunity for a player who has experience, knows the league and can provide any club with different styles of play."

"So Manchester United asked about the final cost of potential deals, which obviously includes the player's salary, agent commissions and the player's wishes. The player himself is very open about this and is very excited to join Manchester United. But at present, there is no specific negotiation yet."

Lewin played 239 times in the Premier League, scored 57 goals, and had 18 assists, and scored in double-digit goals in two seasons. But he has suffered numerous injuries in the past three or four years, and Lewin has missed 83 games due to injuries since the start of the 2021/22 season. He made 26 appearances in the league last season for Everton, including 19 starts, scoring only 3 goals and 2 assists.

Lewin is definitely not a super scorer. He was even one of the players with the biggest difference in the expected number of goals and goals in the Premier League last season. His expected goal rate was 8.67 goals, but he only scored 3 goals. This is not an isolated case. Lewin's actual goals (7 goals) in the 2023/24 season were 6.73 goals less than the expected number of goals (13.73 goals).

Therefore, he is just a center forward with a level similar to Hoylund and Zilkerze. Amorin may hope that his header can bring different routines to the team, and he does not have to rely on central defender Maguire to play a guest appearance as the center forward like last season.

But in addition to injury, Lewin has another transfer barrier. As early as April this year, the Chronicle disclosed that the salary requirement for Lewin's free transfer was about £100,000 per week, which is too high as a substitute.

Manchester United is currently working to introduce a wide attacker for Amorin, and negotiations with Brentford right winger Mbemo have lasted for more than a month. There is no possibility of center signings before completing his deal. It is reported that Amorin hopes to win the 25-year-old Mbemo before the first preseason game on July 19.

Mbemo is determined to join Manchester United, but the club and Brentford are tug-of-war on transfer fees, and Sir Jim Ratcliff does not want to pay the other party's £65 million asking price.

London Evening Standard reported that the "Bees Legion" delayed Mbemo's return date. He was supposed to return to London on July 7, but now he has been postponed by one week. If Manchester United still disagrees with paying on July 14, Mbemo will have to return to Brentford and start pre-season training.
