Official: Real Oviedo signs Brecarlo, contract until 2027

Hupu, August 21, Real Oviedo officially announced that the team reached an agreement with Croatian striker Josip Brekalo, and the players will play until June 30, 2027.

Brekalo was born in Zagreb on June 23, 1998. He was from the youth training in Dynamo Zagreb and completed his first team debut on December 19, 2015. His opponent was InterZapresic. On May 15, 2016, he transferred to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga and ushered in an explosion in the German arena. During his time at Wolfsburg and Stuttgart, he has accumulated more than 100 Bundesliga games, scoring 17 goals and a total playing time of more than 6,800 minutes.

2021/22 season, Brecarlo joined Serie A on loan and won 7 goals in 33 games. Since then, Fiorentina has also introduced him in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. In the 2023/24 season, he returned to Croatia to join HajdukSplit. Last season, he played for Kasimpasa, the Turkish Super League, contributing 4 goals and 2 assists. At the national team level, Brekalo has been selected for Croatian teams at all levels since the youth team, and finally completed his debut in the adult team. He is regarded as one of the hope stars of Croatian football.
