Bucks sign former Thunder Second pitcher, his performance in the Development League and Summer League is not ideal

The Milwaukee Bucks officially announced that Cormac Ryan, a backcourt player who was previously in free agency, has completed the signing with the team. According to further information from The Athletic reporter Eric Nehm, Ryan received a bootcamp contract containing Exhibit 10.

Ryan was born in October 1998 and is 25 years old, 196cm tall and weighs 88kg. He was the undrafted in the NBA draft last year. The University of North Carolina's big six backcourt player signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder last summer, but was cut by the team before the start of last season's NBA regular season. After the start of the NBA regular season last season, Ryan joined Oklahoma City Blue, a subordinate team of the Thunder in the NBA Development League. He played 37 times in the NBA Development League last season, averaging 27.4 minutes per game, averaging 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks per game, and 1.3 turnovers and 2.9 fouls, shooting percentage of 41.8%, three-point shooting percentage of 38.4%, and 97% free throw shooting percentage.

Previously, Ryan represented the Bucks in the NBA Summer League. He played 5 games in the summer league, averaging 23.1 minutes per game, averaging 11.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.2 blocks, 2 turnovers and 3 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 32.6%, a three-point shooting percentage of 25%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 91.7%. Ryan's performance in the NBA Development League and the NBA Summer League is not particularly outstanding, his scoring ability is not particularly ideal, his offensive efficiency is sloppy, and his outside shooting ability is also unable to be displayed. In the previous NBA Summer League, as a player who is already quite old, Ryan could only perform like this, but still couldn't play a good role. This is indeed a bit bad, and it also shows that he has not basically improved his ability.

Although the training camp contract containing Exhibit 10 can be converted into a two-way contract, the Bucks currently have three players with two-way contracts in their lineup, and they have no way to provide Ryan with another two-way contract. Combined with Ryan's performance in the NBA Development League last season and his previous performance in the NBA Summer League, he is likely to be cut by the Bucks and join the Bucks' NBA Development League team Wisconsin Deer. According to the latest CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) rules, if Ryan is cut by the Bucks and can stay in the Wisconsin Deer Herd for 60 days in the NBA Development League field next season, he will be able to get up to $85,300 from the Bucks.
