The Daily Mail reported that Morgan Gibbs White hopes to solve his future problems before Nottingham Forest sets out for Portugal training camp next Monday, and the midfielder is still eager to join Tottenham Hotspur.

When Tottenham met its £60 million termination clause last Friday, the club thought it had cleared the obstacles to signing the attacking midfielder. But Forest threatened to accuse Tottenham of suspected illegal contacts from the Premier League, and the transfer was immediately stranded.

The Daily Mail learned that Gibbs White has maintained a model professional attitude since he returned to the team for training this week. The 25-year-old held talks with Forests on Monday and still hopes both sides can find a solution.

The initiative is currently in the hands of Tottenham. The Daily Mail disclosed in January this year that Gibbs White rejected a new contract to double its weekly salary (at least £60,000) provided by the Forest. It is reported that Tottenham's second offer of about £65 million has been discussed but has not been formally submitted, and it is not clear whether this number can change the forest's stance.

If there is no progress in negotiations, Gibbs White is expected to go to Portugal with Nuno's team, and the team plans to train locally until August 1. Forest has lost Elanga, a key attacker this summer. If Gibbs White leaves the team, it will force Nuno to reorganize the offensive system.

The club still hopes that Odoi, whose contract expires next summer, can renew his contract, and the Forest is interested in Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.
