After the Knicks were eliminated, there were rumors about Towns' trade. Has he finished the last game of his New York career? On June 3, Towns' latest odds were released, with the Suns ranked third in the Warriors, and famous Bill Simmons suggested that the Knicks trade directly with the Suns and trade Towns for Durant.

Downs' latest odds are as follows: 1. Suns +160, 2. Magic +200, 3. Warriors +285, 4. Jazz +425, 5. Mavericks +600, 6. Raptors +950. The Suns became Towns' number one hot next home, and Durant's departure from Phoenix in the summer seemed inevitable. With that in mind, senior NBA analyst Bill Simmons proposed a big deal between the Suns and the Knicks in his latest podcast, exchanging Towns directly for Durant.

"For Durant. Durant has one year left for a contract, but you can renew it with him. I think the salary is actually feasible," Simmons said. "If you remember, Towns and Booker have always had a relationship, they have known each other since childhood, and they were the same agent."

"I was thinking, if you were the Suns, there weren't many choices on Durant's issues, and you didn't have much way to improve the team. Booker likes Towns, and they are good friends. Will this be a way to get rid of Durant-related issues?" he added.

But is it feasible for two teams to directly exchange players? As far as their current lineup is concerned, the answer is no.

The Suns also need to absorb Hooker Porti's veteran's basic salary contract so that the Knicks can complete the deal, because the Knicks are a super-cap team and can only receive salary equal to their salary. Previous reports said that the Knicks players and coaches were frustrated because Towns didn’t work hard enough on the defensive end.

If the Knicks traded to Towns, it might make many members of the team happy, and Simmons also thinks so.

"If you are the Knicks, you can let Durant play for the team for a year, you can convince yourself to let Mitchell Robinson play 30 minutes per game, you don't have to worry about Towns' defensive issues anymore, you cash out at a high position, you get rid of Randle, and you get rid of Towns with a big contract," Simmons concluded.

Although 36-year-old Durant is not a top defensive player, at least in terms of his efforts on the defensive end, he is still better than Towns. If the deal is reached, it means Durant will return to New York to play, after he played for the Brooklyn-area Nets in New York.
