June 6th, Suns reporter John Gambadoro talked about Bill's situation during a Q&A with netizens.
John Gambadoro wrote: "They (the Suns) don't want him to return. But he is currently unable to be traded (with the veto of the deal), and if he does not agree to the buyout contract, the team may have to keep him. In the search for a new coach, they even asked the candidates how to deal with Bill. Obviously, they do not want him to stay on the team at all and are considering how to get out of this situation."
In the 2024-25 season, Bill averaged 17 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game; at present, Bill has two years left on his contract, of which he has an annual salary of $53.66 million in the 2025-26 season and a yearly salary of $57.13 million in the 2026-27 season (player option).
