The Spurs take a key step in chasing Antetokounmpo s dream! The 8-for-1 trading plan is exposed

At first glance, the San Antonio Spurs used Malaki Blanham, Black Wesley, and the future Oklahoma City Thunder's second round pick to exchange for Wizards' chips, but it did not cause much trouble - it was Kelly Olynick, a substitute who had been in his career, who had been playing multiple teams.

Although Olynick can supplement the Spurs' power forward and center positions with much needed depth and shooting ability, more importantly, his expiration contract with a large amount may come in handy in the trade.

Olynik's $13.6 million expiration contract will not be able to participate in the contract merger transaction in the next two months, which just allows "Antetokounmpo" Giannis Antetokounmpo to have enough time to decide whether to stay in the Milwaukee Bucks.

If Antetokounmpo chooses not to renew his contract with the Bucks, the Spurs will obviously be a popular option for his potential next home. After all, the Spurs hold a large number of draft picks, already have two stars in the team, and have enough tradable salary to facilitate the transaction. What might be the plan for the Spurs to get Antetokounmpo in a trade?

A potential trading plan may include: Olynick, Devin Wassell, Stephen Castle, plus the Atlanta Hawks' first round pick in 2027, the Spurs' own first round pick in 2029, the draft pick swap with the Sacramento Kings in 2030 (probably a lotto sign), and three second round picks.

Such chips may be enough to allow the Spurs to get Antetokounmpo and instantly become a favorite to compete for the championship. A starting lineup consisting of Fox, Dylan Harper, Harrison Barnes, Antetokounmpo and Vinban Yama, paired with two shooters and three breakthrough players, is a perfect match.

Of course, the depth of the Spurs' lineup will be damaged. But they can let Fox and Harper play for more than 30 minutes each in point guard and point guard positions, while Antetokounmpo and Wenban Yama take more than 33 minutes of play in power forward and center positions respectively. This can reduce the dependence on deep substitutes and maximize the value of core players. After the Wesley trade, the team may need to add a substitute point guard, but Julian Champagne is competent as a reliable substitute point guard, while Kelden Johnson, who has played for many years, can continue to be a substitute small forward.

Jeremy Sohan will still be a substitute power forward, while Luke Connett can guarantee the height advantage of the substitute center. They can also improve the lineup by renewing substitute center Charles Bassey, turning two-way contract player Riley Minnix, and finding a substitute point guard in the free market.

Once you have three stars, Fox, Antetokounmpo, and Wenban Yama, plus the rising Harper, the Spurs will immediately jump to the top ranks in the West. Considering that Antetokounmpo is only 30 years old, Fox is 27 years old, and Wenban Yama is 22 years old, this core lineup is expected to win the championship in the next three to four years.

NBA is now open, and if Antetokounmpo enters the trading market, the Spurs have a chance to achieve this goal.
