The reason mentioned above is at least $240 million is because all reports clearly state that Williams' final income may exceed this number (it may end up as high as $287 million), which means that his new contract must contain Ross clauses. If he meets certain criteria, such as being selected for the Best of the Year, he will be eligible for a starting salary of up to 30% of the cap cap next season.
